Jan 2012. ( a bit late)
A look back at 2011.
I could not have dreamed for a better 2011 as far as online poker went.
Morale was very high in January 2011 as I had recently moved to live in Whistler, a beautiful ski resort town in Canada. Things went from good to BETTR (how often to people say that!) when I managed to rofl to a 2nd place finish in the Pokerstars Sunday Million for a little under $180k.
For the next few months, my time was taken up with drinking, partying, skiing and pokering my new found wealth away. Which, yes, it is a shame, but who cares I had a blast!
As a 21 year old I made my first trip to sin city itself Las Vegas. And what a trip it was too. What was left of my bankroll was diminishing into nothingness by the end of the trip after no success at the poker tables, and far too much money to think about now spent on everything Vegas had to offer. well.. not everything mum!
Only when I got back to dreary old England, did it dawn on me that I was pretty screwed if I didn't win something quick.
At this point I need to warn you that I'm not a normal human being. I am a lucky motherfker who runs like G.O.D... As such my win came in the form of the Pokerstars WCOOP $10,300 High Roller event for my biggest score to date $430,000.

About a month or so later I played the Pokerstars $10,300 10 year anniversary high roller tournament and managed to rofl my way to the final table again, but this time with the chiplead. I was loving life, trying to make history and win back to back 10ks online but alas it wasn't to be and I ended up finishing 4th.
link for that one..

I ended the year of 2011 as number 1 on OPR for pokerstars which had always been a dream of mine, after cashing for over a million dollars in prizes of which 3/4 was profit.
A look forward to 2012.
Needless to say, its unrealistic to aim for a better 2012 as far as online poker goes. But weirdly enough, I felt like I did better in 2010 than I did in 2011. In 2010, I played a lot more games, won a lot more tournaments and felt better about my consistency as an online grinder. Its just that in 2010 all my run good came in the smaller buyin, smaller prize pool weekday tournaments and ran badly in the bigger sunday stuff. Then in 2011, it was the exact opposite! I couldn't ever get much going during the week but on Sundays and during the big COOPs, everything seemed to go my way. Lucky me! Its funny the way things work.
My aims for 2012 are to play a lot more. I want to play at least 4 nights a week plus weekends, playing my A game consistently and then whatever happens happens.
Oh, that and win an EPT. But if Toby, Jake, Vampy and Rupert can do it anyone can!
February blog to follow..
